Sober Samaritan

WHENEVER ANYONE, ANYWHERE, REACHES OUT FOR HELP...

How Are We Doing?
2/10 - The Sober Samaritan saved a life today, providing a "scholarship" for treatment to an individual with no insurance and no funding. Our current balance for "Life #2" is just over $4,500. Give a little and check back soon.

12/1 - Our donation is featured in this Caron's Chatter and a new group of samaritans has now joined the cause.

10/9 - This morning The Sober Samaritan delivered a $25,000 check to Caron Treatment Centers. We did it! With your efforts and contributions, a life will be saved. We will take the day to be grateful and thankful for all that has happened, and tomorrow, we go to work to save another life.

9/23 - The Sober Samaritan is a Presenting Partner at this weekend's Chester County Recovery Expo! The Kevin Traynor Foundation has named The Sober Samaritan as one of it's recipients, and Casey participated in their recent golf outing and donated Eagles tickets for the live auction! The Sober Samaritan has taken on a life of it's own and will continue to grow, always remembering that our goal is to help the alcoholic that still suffers.

5/29 - Almost too good to be true! Donations have come in from Maine, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, D.C., North Carolina, Texas, Idaho, and Colorado.  With your help, this campaign has taken off in it's first two months. Now, with The Sober Samaritan featured in the latest issue of Caron's Chit Chat Chatter and other press coverage imminent, the sky is the limit!

5/14 - We passed the $5,000 mark over the Mother's Day weekend, thanks to a couple of donations my Father picked up and the generosity of one of my sober buddies, who gave $250 and called himself a "One Percenter." Thanks to those who have contributed and a 2nd thanks to those who have sent e-mails to others with the web link. Just think, if you find one other person to donate this week, we can double the size of the fund by the end of the month....

4/28 As the end of April approaches, The Sober Samaritan breaks the $4,000 mark. Recent donations have come from New Jersey, Delaware, and Texas. Casey provided sponsorship, in the name of The Sober Samaritan, to Caron’s 1st Annual Philadelphia Comedy Night fundraiser. The event is May 6th at Club Helium – see www.caron.org for more information or to buy tickets.

4/17/07 - Just short of the two week mark, over $3,000 in donations.

4/5/07 - The site was launched quietly and has been operational for all of two days, and already over $1,500 is in the bank. Donors include family, close friends, and Caron employees and Alumni, of course. In addition, some new sources of including my mortgage broker, a guy from my tennis team, and a couple of members of my fantasy football league. A fellow who asked about the Caron windbreaker I was wearing at a Center City Starbucks heard my story, visited the web site, made a donation, and got his company to match. WOW! Donations have come from Washington, DC, New York, Atlantic City, and Maine. Thanks to all....
